Although the new ADVENTURE version of the 700CL-X is based on the same platform launched climbing models, but with the domestic models in the past only to replace the spoked wheels and fenders are not the same, Chunfeng in the model set to do some targeted optimization.
In order to give riders a more comfortable riding position, the official climbing version of the 700CL-X has changed its riding triangle by shifting the handlebars 30mm up and 15mm back, and the higher handlebars allow riders to be more relaxed when facing unpaved roads.
The front suspension travel has been increased to 150mm and the ground clearance has been raised by 10mm to prevent gravel and mud from getting stuck, and the front fender has been raised accordingly so that the bike can pass through potholes with confidence.
The tires are R18 front and R17 rear Pirelli Scorpion Rally Str all-terrain tires, suitable for all-weather conditions from cold to hot.
The suspension system of the 700CL-X Climbing Edition uses a full set of KYB damping components with factory tuned support. The front inverted shock has 20 adjustable preload and compression on the left side and 20 adjustable preload and rebound on the right side; the sporty setting can filter daily bumps and avoid steering interference caused by vibrations to enhance riding comfort.
The rear multi-link center shock has 20 adjustable preload and rebound stages, and the stroke can reach 150mm, denying the possibility of bottoming out when passing through bad road conditions.
The 693cc twin-cylinder water-cooled engine explodes with 75 PS (55kW) of maximum horsepower at 8500rpm and 68N-m of maximum torque at 6500rpm.
The ADVENTURE version of the 700CL-X also offers two driving modes for different road conditions. The STREET mode is responsive throughout the entire driving range, with a slight application of fuel and a continuous burst of pleasure; while the OFF-ROAD mode is soft and then fast, emphasizing silky smoothness at low rpm and fierce output at high rpm.
The braking system of the car is equipped with Seito calipers and German Continental ABS as standard, and the ABS system can also be turned off with a long press of a button in OFF-ROAD mode for plenty of off-road fun when the safety situation allows.
Other new features are the CF-SC sliding clutch system, which not only allows easy operation of the clutch lever with two fingers to relieve hand pressure. It also reduces rear wheel hop when downshifting over the top, helping to smooth out the power release and reduce the vehicle's back-drag effect on the engine, significantly improving stuttering.
The front LED headlights feature an adaptive assist system that automatically turns on or off in response to ambient brightness, ensuring clear visibility in a wide range of road conditions, especially when entering tunnel situations with significant contrast between light and dark.
The exterior of the new 700CL-X also has a design that favors adventure models, with the front part adding a windscreen that is harmonized with the headlights; the rear subframe is equipped with a side bag bracket and rear armrest.
Unfortunately, the ADVENTURE version of the 700CL-X is designed with the same platform, the fuel tank has not been expanded, and the version with long range is expected to wait for the next major revision; and the new model has an overall mass of 203kg.
In addition to the above standard features, Springbok also offers a series of modifications, including diamond-shaped lattice heightened cushion, vintage leather side bags, chain guard, side-mounted mirrors, lightweight vintage rear disc, side braces to increase the base, raise the windshield, etc.
